How browser storage is used

ViddyScribe uses cookies and similar technologies, including local storage and session storage, to operate the service and remember your choices. Analytics cookies and browser storage stay off until you accept them in Cookie Settings; without them we only count usage anonymously, with no cookies, no browser storage, and no identifier saved in your browser. Embedded videos remain disabled until you allow them. Turning off optional technologies does not prevent you from using core account and processing features.

Analytics

Off until you accept

With your permission, PostHog stores a random identifier in your browser so we can understand feature usage across visits, diagnose errors, and on selected product routes record privacy-masked session replays. Without it, we still count page views and clicks anonymously: nothing is stored in your browser, and PostHog derives a temporary key from your network address, browser type, and the site name using a secret that changes every day, so visits cannot be linked across days or to an account. You can change this at any time in Cookie Settings.

Embedded videos

Allows embedded video players to load. YouTube and Vimeo may receive technical information and set their own cookies when their players load.

Service details

PostHog, once you accept analytics, uses a randomly generated browser identifier to connect product events and sessions. ViddyScribe configures input masking for replay. PostHog browser persistence can last for up to 12 months unless you withdraw consent or clear your browser data. Until you accept, PostHog receives page views and clicks with no identifier and stores nothing in your browser; its server computes a hash from your network address, browser type, and the site name with a secret that rotates daily, and the inputs are not kept.
Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights collect aggregated traffic and performance measurements for all visitors. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and resets its visitor hash after 24 hours.
YouTube and Vimeo players are not loaded until embedded videos are allowed. Their own privacy and cookie terms apply after a player loads.

Change or withdraw your choice

You can change your preferences at any time. Withdrawing analytics consent removes ViddyScribe's PostHog identifier from this browser where browser access permits and stops session replay and error capture; only the anonymous, cookie-free counting described above continues.
