Our Rebrand: A New Logo for ViddyScribe

The familiar shapes inside our new logo, and the details that keep it readable even in a browser tab.

We have given ViddyScribe a new logo. We wanted it to feel familiar at first glance and give people a sense of what we do, even before they read the name. Video was the obvious place to start.

The play button is a shape people already know. In our logo, it shares a stroke with a check mark, a reference to the accessibility requirements our customers work toward. Together, those shapes form a V for ViddyScribe. They fit into one continuous line, so you can recognise the logo as a whole without having to pick out each part.

There is a practical reason for keeping it simple. A logo has to work in the corner of a browser tab as well as it does at the top of a website. We balanced the thickness of the stroke with the space inside it to keep the shape readable when it gets small. The gaps are part of the drawing, too.

We also wanted the design to feel friendly. Our job is to make audio description easier to fit into the work of making and publishing a video, especially when time is short. That work helps people who cannot see the video follow what is happening on screen. We wanted an approachable look for the tool that helps you do it.

You will see the new logo across the website and app, and in emails from us. The rebrand itself does not change your videos, descriptions or files.
